Adani Power, a major player in the energy sector, has announced plans to construct a plant in Bihar. The project involves building a 2,400 MW ultra super critical power plant, which is a type of highly efficient power generation technology. The investment for this project is $3 billion, which highlights the scale and significance of the initiative.
The plant will be constructed under the design, build, finance, and operate (DBFO) model. This model means that Adani Power will handle all aspects of the project from planning and construction to operation, which is a common approach in large infrastructure projects.
The plant is expected to be fully commissioned in 60 months, which is a typical timeline for such large-scale projects. The plant will supply electricity to Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd (BSPGCL) under a 25-year agreement, ensuring a long-term power supply for the state.
The project is supported by the Shakti Policy of the central government, which aims to promote renewable and sustainable energy sources. This policy provides a framework for the development of power projects in India.
This is the sixth major power supply order received by Adani Power in the past 12 months, indicating the company’s growing presence and influence in the power generation sector.
